LORENZO
FELICIATI

World-renowned eclectic bass player, producer, arranger and recording artist.

Feliciati is a frequently-flying well-travelled artist that has been exploring and mixing many different genres throughout all his long career, to the extent of creating his very own unique style that makes his music always recognizable.
A distinctive feature within a very complex and varied production, that is more likely to be found around the progressive rock and nu jazz section in a record store.

Feliciati’s work is split between his evolving career as one of the most important bass players in the contemporary international scene, and his role as one of Italy’s greatest studio and live professional musicians. And even more so, he’s especially renowned for his outstanding talents as composer, arranger and producer.

Feliciati’s collaborations include:
Bob Mintzer( Yellowjackets), Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson), Cuong Vu ( Pat Metheny Group), Chad Wackerman(Frank Zappa, Allan Holdsworth), Steve Jansen(Japan, David Sylvian), Martin Verdonk(Prince, Chaka Khan,Stevie Winwood), Sean Freeman ( Level 42,Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa), Mattias IA Eklundh, Niccolò Fabi, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Colin Edwin(Porcupine Tree), Gianluca Petrella, Orchestra Operaia di Massimo Nunzi, MIchele Rabbia, Marco Minneman, Eivind Aarset, NIls Petter Molvaer, Graham Haynes, Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari, Roberto Gualdi (PFM), Daniele Gottardo, Donovan, Tiromancino, Maurizio Giammarco, Domenico Modugno, Fiorella Mannoia, DJ Skizo

Thanks to Markbass amps, basses and strings, Maruszczyk basses, Camarota basses, Cort and Rufini basses, JHS Pedals, EarthQuaker Devices and Mama Pickups for their help and support.

The music of Lorenzo Feliciati is that of a story teller. Each song takes you on a journey of orchestration, harmony, melody and groove. Lorenzo writes very intricate and specific grooves, and some were a bit challenging to play. There's lots of ear candy, grooving bass lines, wonderful melodies and counter melodies, yet it never overtakes the groove and the pulse. This EP [Rumble] is a house of musical wonders, possibilities, harmony and complexity, built upon a solid foundation of groove and feel. I'm sure every listener will enjoy the musical journey it takes them on!

Jason JT Thomas - (Snarky Puppy, Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor, Forq)

Fat and firm, a warm gushy feeling all drummers should enjoy. Oh my, what a stinky funk!

Pat Mastelotto - (King Crimson, Laurie Anderson, Fripp Sylvian)

Lorenzo and I worked remotely and with a great deal of freedom of interpretation. I enjoyed the trusting nature Lorenzo applied to my input and the fact that I was free to explore as I wished. The music that I received was unusual and distinctive and hopefully I was able to contribute on a similar level.

Steve Jansen - (Japan, David Sylvian)

Lorenzo is a true bass player, steady, heavy, and at the same time curious and happy to explore new territories. And not at least, he is also a very nice person.

Eivind Aarset - (Dhafer Youssef, Nils Petter Molvaer)

It’s been 10 years or so since my first time meeting Lorenzo during one of the funnest (and best good eats) tours I’ve ever done.  It was pretty obvious what a great musician he is, even from that first time that we’d played, and it’s been such a lucky scenario for me to have gotten to work with him and be a part of his musical sound world all this time.

Cuong Vu - (Grammy award winner with Pat Metheny group, Laurie Anderson, David Bowie)
